Butter by BTS (방탄소년단) is a digital single released on 21st May 2021. It is the group’s second digital single, followed by Dynamite (released last year on 21st August). According to the group’s leader RM, “Butter is a cool summer song, and it was the members and BTS only which inspired the song’s creation.” Butter shows charms of all the seven members and their singing styles which are a little unique from Dynamite (or should I say Dynaflop XD). With Butter, the BTS members want to give positive energy and a fresh feeling to their fans, Army.

This hot Butter by BTS, as soon as it dropped, started breaking records. With having most viewers for a video-premiere – 3.9 M, Butter broke the group’s previous single Dynamite’s record. After the release, Butter broke the record of the most viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours, with recorded 108,200,000 (approx.) views. Butter became the fastest MV of BTS to record 10M 20M 30M 40M to 279,417,712 (approx.) of now.
After it dropped, Butter recorded in just 24 hours 11,042,335 global Spotify streams, making it the most-streamed song on Spotify in a day. BTS’s Butter has also earned the largest sales in the week of its release by selling 228,000 copies.
And now BTS and Army, with their hard work and dedication, have again topped the HOT 100 Billboard Chart with Butter. (sobs)
Butter by BTS is now the group’s 4th song to get #1 on Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
Butter has earned BTS their seventh No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales Chart.
BTS has now achieved their first four #Hot100 No. 1 over a span of exactly nine months, from charts dated Sept. 5 2020 through June 2, 2021. They have scored the quickest accumulation of 4 #HOT100 since Justin Timberlake earned the honor over seven months and two weeks in 2006-07
